My new make up!

Best scone in Glasgow

You know what happens when you decide on a nice day (whatever this means in Glasgow!) to go and meet a friend for coffee in the city centre! Yes…that’s right! You end up getting carried away by the shop windows, the buzz and the atmosphere, and you….shop…till you drop (or anyway as much as your pocket allows you on the day ;-) )

We went for a cream tea at Fifi and Ally’s (best scone I have ever had!) and then for the necessary visit to the House of Fraser to check out new perfumes and make up. I would like to thank Martin and Danielle at Dior’s who were very helpful. On the day I bought the following:

New body shop

Hemp hand protector, Body Shop (really nice for my terribly dry hands)
Eye Concealer 003, Body Shop (brights up fabulously my dark circles)
Honey & Oat Face Mask, Body Shop (I love the smell and the feeling of calmness after a nice face mask)

New Dior

And my super new favourites:

Dior Skin Forever Foundation (perfect cover but is not heavy on my skin, something I hate, really lovely texture that lasts well…forever!)

Dior Addict Lipstick No. 578 (I trully madly deaply fell in love with this one, is an absolutely beautiful colour)

I know I do not look quite as good as Natalie Portman or Kate Moss, but I thought you would like to see a photo of what the make up looks like on someone.

Have you ever tried these products yourselves?

Which perfume is your favourite?

A great book about perfumes is “The perfume” by Patrick Süskind which is also a famous film (2001). Apparently although the novel was very popular and was considered for a movie for years, it was too difficult to film the descriptions of the smells described in the book. In my opinion, a book is always better than its movie as the human brain has unsurcumpable abilities of imagination that could not easily be captured in a film. This is the film trailer.

Which perfume?

I have been having some time in the shops this week here in Glasgow trying out perfumes in the search of my new favourite for the new year coming. I have never been able to stop buying different perfumes rather than stick to one signature perfume for myself. And this is I think because I love perfumes so much. The one perfume I used to think completely as the ONE was called HER by Roberto Cavalli but for some unknown reason to myself the company decided to discontinue it, leaving me perfume-less again. So ever since I have been trying different perfumes in the search of the next ONE.

These are three of my most favourite perfumes to date Lovely, Flower by Kenzo and Un Jardin Après La Mousson by Hermès. I also like Un Jardin sur Le Nil and Un Jardin sur le Toit by Hermès, Her by Narciso Rodriguez, and very recently I am keen to own Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum.

I think it is the new ONE!!!

So what do you think? Which one is your favourite perfume?

Cream tea at “Fifi and Ally”…

Fifi and alli

And this is what I had today! A beautiful cream tea, as they call it here, at a favourite Glasgow cafe, Fifi and Ally. It is situated in Princes Square and it makes the best fruit scones I have ever had. My friend and husband both agreed that this was the case! It does look awesome in the photo yeah? Can you imagine what it actually tastes like? These are the things the cafes back home just cannot do :-(. But hey since I live here I am so lucky to have the opportunity to enjoy them with my friends and my love.

Where is your favourite place for tea or coffee?

I love “Mary Katrantzou”…

Isn’t this girl something else? One of the most talented fashion designers I have come across comes from Greece. Her name Mary Katrantzou. She seems a very nice, well-spoken and educated girl with tons of talent and inspiration. Her clothes I cannot stop looking at. Her prints are a true inspirations and oh how I would love to wear one of her dresses.

Below a video of my favourite “Mary Katrantzou” collection, SS 11. I love the dresses with the long back tail.

Which one is your favourite dress?

CORFU, Travel

My summer in Corfu, Greece! Hello again!

I know I have disappeared completely for the summer…:-( Sorry about that. I just needed to take a long break and find new balances and ways of life. I had an absolutely wonderful time with my man and my best friends touching base again and enjoying a full summer (I had not done this since….oh I cannot even remember…probably primary school!). We had coffees at Cafe “Petite Fleure”, “Bristol” and “Grec”. We had nice handmade pizza at “Piperitsa” with the lovely environment, enjoyed a baptism at Kommeno, swam at Barbati beach crystal clear waters, suntanned on the sunchairs of Piedra del Mar.

Well I do promise to keep in touch more often. And although it is a pity the summer is over, I feel rested and ready for the winter coming. What about you?
