Nardini’s Café on Byres Road…

Hello my friends! Nardini’s is one of my family’s favourite places for coffee, ice-cream and sweet treats in Glasgow. Situated on Byres Road, in West End, it carries the feeling of traditional presented in a modern way. My daughter absolutely loves it too and has croissants there every weekend with her daddy. The staff is so friendly that last weekend, although the shop was closed for refurbishment, they opened the doors so their little costumer could have her croissant as usual. She cannot wait to go back next weekend!

I also have to say that the ice-cream is absolutely devine with flavours that you would not be able to find anywhere else. They even do an Irn-Bru flavour as a tribute to their Scottish environment. I think my favourite is Honeycomb Explosion! You can check out the café here.

Statues and I…

There is something about statues…Although cold and motionless, they attract us towards them, making us want to be close to them, part of their story. I have found that during my travels I have so much been attracted to their call. Interestingly, I have a small collection of photos to remind me of my brief encounters with them. A meeting where the present meets the past. And time stops for a few seconds…

Have you met any of them too?

Back to Glasgow…Autumn 2012…

I have not written for so long. And I have so missed it. So many things have happened and yet here I return again, at my favourite old habits, relearning from them and adding on new experiences. Like a canvas you keep on retouching as life gives you new insights.

It has been an awesome summer and I would expect nothing less from my favourite season. Most of all I read a lot which I really enjoy and have decided to give more time to myself to do this. On the right of the blog you will find the book that I currently read. I will give my comments about it when I am finished. It will possibly be a variety of English, International and Greek writers.

Follow my journey during these 3 months from Glasgow to Paris, to Corfu, to Verona, to Sirmione and Peschiera of Lake Garda, to Corfu and back to Glasgow.

How was your summer my friends?

The Artist in the Grosvenor Cinema, Glasgow…

Hi guys! I finally managed to go out on a date on Friday woohoo! We chose to see “The Artist” at the Grosvenor Cinema in the glamorous and super cool West End of Glasgow. I had such a great time. The movie was superb (can I adopt that dog? What a cutie!) and I was able to relax and enjoy it in the comfy couch at the back of the cinema room. Civilisation! Boys if you have an important date…the couch is a must!

Which movie did you see lately?

A day at the Aquarium…

Happy 2012!!! I have had a very nice time with my family and have been taking all the rest in the world during the holidays enjoying great food and even greater wine! Today we decided to go to the Aquarium at the Loch Lomond Shores and we had an absolute great time! I was more excited about the fish than all the children in there and went on the Carousel and had a very nice banana cake at the coffee shop there. What a great day that was!

Oh I have also had a change in my looks! Can you notice the difference?

The Boat House in Loch Lomond…

This where I was last Sunday before the heavy snow covered Glasgow. We went with my family to the Boat House near Loch Lomond for lunch. You can find their website here. The environment was absolutely superb, the decoration of the place was completely my style, and the food was very good too. We had the paella and the wine mussels.

I could also imagine myself spending lazy Sunday afternoons having tea and cakes and reading magazines and newspapers in their lounge area. We will be returning there a lot… Enjoy the photos!
