Hanoi Bike Shop Restaurant with mummy Sofia…

Untitled

It is this time of the year when mummy arrives from Corfu! We go shopping, we go eating, we go promenading and have mother-daughter fun. Sometimes it is hard as she never brings her glasses and she cannot read a thing so I have to read every little thing on the menu for her. However, all and all I love having her around as I do not see her often enough. She will be around for Christmas too! Double joy!

So yesterday we went to the Hanoi Bike Shop in the West End of Glasgow for lunch. It serves really lovely Vietnamese food and a completely unique environment. The whole place is designed like a bike shop and it is so cleverly made. I love such design concepts! The staff is so great and service is very fast! I had the summer rolls which I cannot recommend highly enough.

Going out in Glasgow…

I know I have disappeared but you will understand why the next few months when I am able to show you the photos of our new house! I am so excited about it! But because I have not been online, it does not mean I have not been offline too. I have been out with my love and our friends and have had a great time on different occasions. Drinking cocktails at the Ubiquitous Chip, eating out at Pancho Villas, la Vallee Blanche, Soba bar and the wonderful wonderful Brian Maules and listening to loud bands at Maggie Mays.

The winter is here and I am wearing my woollen hat and scarf on a daily basis now. Tomorrow my mum arrives and it is all getting exciting for Christmas.

P.S. How do you like the new look of the blog?

Paris and autumn 2013…

paris2013

Hello my dear friends! I have had a very busy couple of months stressful and exciting as I am moving house and I could not be happier. Our beautiful house sold within 10 days and now we are free to dream about our new life to West End of Glasgow. I do promise to dedicate a full post when we move in to our very special property. I am sure you are going to like it too.

I am just back from Paris where we spent a wonderful weekend with our Italian friends Alessandro, Chiara and Beatrice. I love it so much and I never want to leave. I found though the use of metro with a young toddler and a pram completely impossible as usually there are stairs and very few lifts and on top of this, the Parisians just stare at you struggling down the stairs killing your back and risking your child’s life and do not ever offer to help. What happened to the savoir vivre and rules of politeness?

Despite that, it was all dreamy. We had our best meal at the Petit Zinc: Oysters, beef steak au poivre and the best créme brulée I have ever tasted. The environment was one of the most beautiful too and the manager spoke in Greek and Italian too. Absolutely recommended! I bought again a 20 piece box of macarons de Pierre Hermés and tried a piece of the wonderful gateau Sarah. Ohhh the food and the wine were exquisite! We also visited the Ciné Aqua which was really nice for the children.

We also saw this absolutely spooky man that had made the most incredible bicycle. If I did not know any better, I would have thought he is related to Leonardo Da Vinci. Possibly he aspires to…haha!

I went in the Repetto shop (I just love everything about ballet since I was a little ballerina in my childhood years) and wanted so much this dress here! Their shoes were also so elegant and there was a little area of proper ballet shoes…I wanted to stay there for hours…

Stockholm and the weekend…

_MG_0639

Welcome to Stockholm!

Two weeks ago we spent a weekend in Stockholm my family and I. We really just had Saturday morning but it was a glorious sunny warm day and I fell in love with the city. The beautiful buildings, the amazing cycling lanes and the fantastic gardens. The people were warm and welcoming and we had some amazing food too. I have to say though that it was unfortunately a very very expensive city in terms of souvenirs, etc. I was trying to persuade Colin to move there but he quite rightly persuaded me that the winters would not be my thing.

Have you ever been to Stockholm? What did you think of it?

Hello everyone! I know I have been a bad girl but this summer has been so busy. I promise I will have more posts soon with all the exciting things we have been doing. First stop, Corfu! My hometown, my love…So lovely to be there, meet my family and friends, go swimming in crystal clear blue waters, and have wonderful food. But I will let the photos speak for themselves.

What did you do this summer?

IMG_0049

Hello my friends! I wanted to treat you to lots and lots of photos we took at the new museum of transport which we got to visit. It was a lovely thing to do, many interesting things I did not know about wheels and engines and lots of laughing moments too! I hope you enjoy the post!

Which is your favourite museum?
